Hansei Slim Leather Wallet - Crazy Horse Leather

First the pros: Quality of the leather and feel of the material is superb. It feels like a luxury wallet and is great to pickup. The card organization is great, I would have preferred more slots where the coin pocket is, but there is still enough slots for my need. I appreciate the RFID blocking, and the slots to store sim/sd cards. The pen is also elegant and amazing. Every wallet should have one of these!
My issues: This is marketed as a "slim" wallet, but it is in no way slim (even empty). My previous wallet was from Big Skinny and this is almost 3x the thickness when closed. It is not comfortable in my front pocket, and I can definitely feel it in my back pocket when sitting down on it. The ID pocket on the front is unusable because any card feels stuck in there; it's too tight. Even the little window to help push the card does not help at all in moving it. Maybe over time it will "wear-in" but who has time to wait for this. Also all card slots feel like 1mm to small during my first usage. It was hard to fit more than 8 bills into the money pocket.

Overall I think it's a nice wallet, but I would most likely return it if that was an option. They require you to pay the shipping back which I'm not even going to deal with honestly. I will just keep it as a nice travel wallet instead. But my advice is do not buy this thinking it is a slim wallet, and if you have the patience to work the leather in your usage it could be a solid choice.

After trying a few minimalist wallets, this is the one that stuck. no folding bills! The leather has aged beautifully; it got that rugged, vintage tone I love.

I have gotten so many compliments on this wallet. The brown leather gives off that classic vintage look, but the features are all modern with RFID blocking, SIM holder, quick access card slot.

The quick access card slot at the back is a gem! It allows me to tap my ezlink card just by tapping the back wallet for commuting.

The leather feels high-quality, but it just feels alittle too fitting for me. Where I hold 7 cards, some bills and loose change. It just feels just nice, perhaps it takes time to stretch out the leather.

Hansei Wallet returns to the good ol' basics with a pull-out tab and the easy access card slow on the back is a dream.

This is a long awaited review, I am 1 of the early batch whom got invited to test out the Hansei wallet. I have been using for 5 months and I really like the whole functionality of the wallet especially when the leather starts to patina and gets soft. The push slot at the back is convenient for my commute card and the pen is a saver for my travel declaration forms. As I am writing this review, I bought 2 more of this and would recommend anyone who is looking for a minimalist wallet that is so functional!

I am a big fan of Kisetsu, I own several wallets from them haru, kaizen and the newly added collection hansei. I received it last week and have already fallen in love with it. Aesthetically it looks nice with the curve and everything just fits nicely. I like the extra slot at the back where I can tap my ezlink card with it. The whole wallet is made in such a way it's so convenient for everyday use. Getting another one in saffiano leather.
